Accessing content directly

When you create content you need to access the files on your TomTom navigation device.  TomTom HOME makes it easy to manage content, but sometimes you might need to directly access the folders on your device.

Note: Before making any changes to the contents of your device, make sure you create a complete backup.  You can do this easily using TomTom HOME.

Using your computer you can access the files on your device by following these steps:

Windows

1.Connect your TomTom navigation device to your computer.
2.Click Start and then click My Computer.
3.Your device should be visible as a removable drive:

4.Double click on the removable drive named TomTom. 

A window opens and displays the contents of your device. Your device has files stored in the root directory as well as in folders.

Mac

1.Connect your TomTom navigation device to your computer.

Your device is automatically mounted on your desktop as a removable drive with the name INTERNAL.

2.Double-click on your new mounted device.
