Overview

An Itinerary is a planned route with destinations in addition to the final destination. An Itinerary consists of:

• Destinations - locations on a journey where you want to stop.

• Waypoints - locations on a journey which you travel through without stopping.

A TomTom Itinerary is a file containing a list of locations that you can navigate. The locations are visited in the order that they appear in the list. The itinerary file has the extension .itn and it contains the information for all the locations on the route (longitude, latitude, name of the location).

There are four ways to create an itinerary file:

This is the easiest way to create an itinerary but it is not suitable for creating many itineraries at once.
